A: What you see is what you get. I’m friendly, confident, active and genuinely interested in people. I enjoy good conversation and beautiful places, but I’m not impressed by status for its own sake. I value humour, reliability and people who can relax and be themselves. Life is considerably better when nobody feels the need to perform.
A: It’s difficult to choose one dramatic moment. The experiences I remember most are often surprisingly simple — travelling somewhere beautiful, spending the day outdoors and ending up around a table with good food and people whose company you genuinely enjoy. For me, who you share something with usually matters more than how extravagant it is.
A: 1. Sport — especially tennis. I’m much nicer after I’ve burnt off some energy.
2. Travel — I love the feeling of arriving somewhere new.
3. Good conversation — curiosity is very attractive.
4.Great food — preferably somewhere you can stay much longer than intended.
5.Time outdoors — mountains, coastlines or simply escaping the city for a while.
A: I have a weakness for unexpected adventures. Some of my favourite memories began with plans going completely wrong. There’s one particularly strange story from Prague that usually takes a glass of wine and the right company before I tell it. I’ve learned that the moments you don’t plan often become the ones you remember.
A: Probably the contrast. I’m academically minded but very grounded, competitive on a tennis court but relaxed away from it. I can enjoy a formal dinner one evening and be perfectly happy in walking boots the next morning. I fit into very different environments easily without changing who I am.
A: Probably far less about myself than you might expect. I’m naturally curious about people and I’m a good listener. Once the conversation gets going, though, I have plenty of stories — university, sport, travelling, a few questionable adventures and several occasions when plans went spectacularly off-script. Those usually make the best stories anyway.
A: I travel frequently and genuinely enjoy it. London is home, but I’m very comfortable arriving somewhere new and finding my feet quickly. Europe is particularly easy for me, although I’m always open to travelling further. I prefer discovering a city properly rather than simply ticking off landmarks.
A: I like a life with contrast. Sport and the outdoors keep me grounded, while travel, culture and meeting interesting people keep me curious. I can be just as happy walking in the Lake District as spending an evening somewhere special in London. Having both sides keeps life interesting.
A: I’m reliable and I mean what I say. I value good manners, privacy and treating people properly. I’m independent, organised and refreshingly low-drama, but also warm and easy-going. If we make plans, you can expect me to arrive relaxed, prepared and fully present.
A: Probably that I’m comfortable in my own skin. I’m competitive and ambitious when it matters, but I don’t take myself too seriously. I adapt easily to different people and environments without feeling the need to perform or become somebody else.
A: By paying attention. I think the little things are often what people remember — being punctual, noticing preferences, thinking ahead and making life easier without making a fuss about it. I’m naturally organised, but I also know when to forget the plan and simply enjoy where the evening takes us.
A: Tennis, football, travel and the outdoors take up a fair amount of my spare time. I also enjoy art, architecture, good food and discovering places that aren’t necessarily on everybody’s list. I like contrast — an energetic morning followed by a very relaxed evening suits me perfectly.
A: Anything involving a little energy or discovery. I love a competitive game of tennis, getting outdoors and occasionally disappearing into the hills for a long walk. At the other end of the spectrum, I’m very happy discovering a great restaurant, exhibition or unfamiliar part of a city. A good evening usually involves plenty of laughter and no rush to be anywhere else.
A: Confidence without arrogance, curiosity and adaptability. I’m comfortable with very different kinds of people and rarely feel out of place. I listen properly, remember the small details and tend to stay calm when plans change. Above all, I’m genuinely interested in the person I’m spending time with.
A: Making people feel comfortable very quickly. I’m naturally curious, easy to talk to and good at reading the mood. I enjoy intelligent conversation, but I’m equally happy laughing, switching off and simply enjoying the moment. The best company should feel natural rather than rehearsed.
A: I’ve always been active, so fitness is simply part of everyday life rather than something I have to force myself to do. Tennis is my main sport, with football, walking and training in between. I eat well without being obsessive about it — plenty of balance, but always enough flexibility to enjoy a great dinner and a good bottle of wine.
