RentMen:
If we sat on the beach and drank wine and ate great food just you and I, what would you tell me about yourself and your life?
JayBalard:
I’m a very open and forthcoming person I’d probably end up telling you my whole life story.
RentMen:
What are 5 things you can’t live without?
JayBalard:
1.Muisc
2.My phone. I know I hate to admit but we all need them to function in society.
3.YouTube. I’m a student of life and love learning and YouTube is a great tool to use.
Besides that I’m more of a experience based person. Most physical things I could take or leave.
RentMen:
How do you go the 'Extra Mile' in your life?
JayBalard:
Some of my first jobs where in the service industry and I had a manager who always would ask “ what did you do to make someone’s day?” That’s always something that’s on my mind. It could be complimenting someone on their hair. Helping a friend move or picking up a shift for a coworker that needs a day off. We don’t realize how one act of genuine kindness could change the direction of someone’s life.
RentMen:
Tell us about the best experience you have had in life.
JayBalard:
I would say working for 3 years at a nonprofit. I grew up with parents in prison. For any kid with parents who are incarcerated, there’s a feeling of feeling very othered. While in college I spent 3 summers as a camp counselor working with kids who had the same experience I had. I can’t put into words how that experience impacted my life. I’m a much better man today because of it.
